The Virginia Youth Ballet and Theater is the 501 (c)(3) nonprofit company associated with the academy that provides professional-level experiences to dance students and outreach programs in the art of dance for the community.
Since its inception in 1989 the VYB has performed story ballets that are exciting and intriguing for audiences young and mature. In addition to public performances, VYB has performed for thousands of area school children. For many of these children it is their first live-theater performance, bringing an awareness and appreciation for performing arts that can only be experienced in-person. Past performances have included the following: Peter and the Wolf, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, Cinderella, The Sorcerer’s Apprentice, Romeo and Juliet, Beauty and the Beast, Sleeping Beauty, Puss in Boots, Hansel and Gretel, Alice in Wonderland, Coppelia, The Secret Garden, The Steadfast Tin Soldier, Pied Piper, and more.

Virginia Youth Ballet provides academy dancers increased opportunities to perform, which is a critical component to a dancer’s artistic and technical development. Vostrikov’s Academy students are welcomed and encouraged to participate in VYB productions. Due to the generous support of our corporate sponsors and individual donors, there are no expenses to students.
